Personal hovercraft 2015

Personal hovercraft 2015 – Since the invention of the wheel, many of us have wondered whether it might be possible to fly above the surface, to escape the gravitational pull of the earth just a little, so we could levitate here and there.

One of the stories in the One Thousand and One Nights relates how Prince Husain travels to India and buys a magic carpet. In 1880, the rich industrialist Savva Mamontov commissioned Viktor Vasnetsov to illustrate a folk talk about Ivan and the Firebird. The painting represents Ivan returning home after capturing the Firebird, riding the flying carpet in the early morning mist.

Since the invention of the motor car, we have wanted flying cars so we can commute that little bit faster. Occasionally when you drive into London or other cities, you wonder why the river is not used more, why should we all travel the same roads at the same time? Perhaps a car could travel over water as well as fly?

Popular Science Monthly, July 1959 celebrated the Cars Without Wheels. The cover shows a “ground effect machine” designed and flown by Dr. William R. Bertelsen.

Chitty Chitty Bang Bang was a flying car, boasting quite an impressive range.

The film Back to the Future features a flying DeLorean invented by Dr. Emmett Brown which can also time travel. The film also featured hover boards. It was perhaps inevitable that some clever chap would turn a “DeLorean” into a fully working hovercraft, so much appreciation and applause to Matt Riese, aka David Lorean – check out the video below and visit his website at http://www.deloreanhovercraft.com/

If you cannot find a flying car for sale, perhaps you should consider the next best thing, a personal hovercraft. Personal Leisure Hovercraft can fly over any flat surface about 8 inches above the surface, so although not technically a car, they can fly over road, water, sand, mud, ice, snow, in fact any flat surface at speeds of 40 miles per hour.
